Who Wore What – The Answers feat.Ashley Olsen & Cameron Diaz
Today’s What Was She Wearing: Answers! has information and options galore. As always, the story is brought to you by the finest of interns—Allison and Jessica.
Ashley Olsen has been putting up a thick shield between her eyes and the sun with this pair of sunglasses from Tom Ford. The retro, plastic aviators, similar to Oakley sunglasses of old, come with two sets of interchangeable lenses, which click in at the center, giving them a thicker appearance. The Hawkings Aviator Sunglasses have gold hardware and are available in light havana and black frames ($490, saksfifthavenue.com).
You’ve gotta applaud Cameron Diaz. She’s a reliable source that WWWD readers to look to when they need inspiration for pretty, casual wear. Seen here in Beverly Hills a few weeks ago, she makes an impression as the first celebrity spotted carrying a Gucci Peggy Natural bag ($1450, gucci.com). For those interested, we found a budget-conscious alternative in Cynthia Rowley’s Vienna Rattan Tote ($295, shopbop.com). Diaz also wore a flowing ivory cotton top by Hale Bob, which is currently sold out ($212, halebob.com). Free People makes a few similar styles that we like, the Plunging V Top ($78, freepeople.com) and the Free People Tunic ($88, madisonlosangeles.com).
Without question (at least for us), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is an awesome film. Potter love aside, we’re equally enthralled with the demure and lovely outfits Emma Watson’s wore while promoting the film. Judging by the number of inquiries in our inbox, we weren’t the only ones paying attention to her selections. After some research, we noticed a pattern in the attire that Emma has showcased: Chanel, Chanel, Chanel. The reason behind this consistency makes sense— it was just announced she’s the fashion house’s latest face, but back to your questions. Above, at the Late Show with David Letterman, Emma is wearing a 3.1 Phillip Lim dress ($390, elevenboutique.com), accompanied by Chanel’s Charleston shoes from the 2006 Cruise Collection ($660, chanel.com).
You’d expect a fashion student, Teen Vogue intern, and designer to have impeccable and innovative style. Lauren Conrad—who’s all three of these things and has a little TV show called The Hills—lives up to the expectation. Readers wanted to know about the outfit she recently wore for on a night out in Los Angeles. Her top is actually a dress that Lauren fashioned to look like a cami. This “top” is the As U Wish Taffeta Babydoll Dress by Brass Plum, a.k.a. B.P. the junior’s collection from Nordstrom. It is available online in black and rose ($68, nordstrom.com). If you aren’t as crafty as Lauren, we like the bow cami from Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent in smoke ($174, shopbop.com). As for the rest of the outfit, Lauren paired dark, skinny zip Lux jeans ($68, urbanoutfitters.com) with a pair of black peep toe pumps by Dolce Vita ($70 on sale, urbanoutfitters.com). Finally, Lauren carried a vintage Chanel bag she picked up in Manhattan. Resurrection Vintage has an amazing selection of similar items, check their website and store for details (323.651.5516, resurrectionvintage.com).
